Fabulous Stuff #21 & #22 - Inspiring students & Visiting BFFs

Fabulous Stuff #21 - Inspiring students

My students in Aidha, who are foreign domestic workers from the Philippines, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India and other Asian countries are reminding me of many good values:

1.  Commitment  - They are a source of inspiration to me when they spend their ONLY day off learning and volunteering at Aidha.

2.  Curiosity -  They are hungry to learn and pay rapt attention in class.  I have never met more hungry students.  They actually ask me for additional reading materials! ;)

3.   Courage - They have the courage to fight for their dreams, not matter how hard they have to work for their employers, no matter how far they are away from their family, how hard they have to scrimp and save for their family and yet without fail, almost every Sun morning, they attend their classes in Aidha to learn about financial literacy, entrepreneurship, computer skills and other life skills.

They are AMAZING women that we can all learn from!  I'm so proud and privileged to have the opportunity to teach these ladies when they are actually the ones teaching me! ;)

Fabulous Stuff #22 - Visiting BFFs!

One of my sweetest and bestest friends arrived from Bangkok this weekend (lady on right) and we are having a FABULOUS time catching up!  Good friends are hard to come by and BFFs are even rarer!  We have known each other for about 5 years now and even though we only see each other once or twice a year/talk over the phone occasionally, we still remain fast friends!  I will have to visit her in Bangkok soon! ;)
